My documents: what does acknowledging mean?
My documents is your own screen. It holds the documents distributed to you — showing only their active revision — and one button: "I have read and understood".
Why does this particular document appear to me?
Because your management distributed it to your job title or your department. You do not see other people's documents, and you do not see documents whose audience has not been set yet.
If your screen is empty when you expect content, it is usually one of three reasons: no document is distributed to your job title · the document is still an unapproved draft · or your account is not linked to an employee record (ask HR).
What does the button mean?
You are testifying that you read this specific revision and understood it. This is not paperwork: clause 7.3 requires workers to be aware of what concerns them, and clause 5.3 requires responsibilities to be communicated. The auditor's question is very practical: "this procedure is approved — do the people who carry it out actually know it?"
Open the file before you press. The acknowledgement is testimony in your name, stamped with its time. Acknowledging without reading deceives your own system before it deceives any auditor.
Why is it asking me again?
Because the document was issued in a new revision. The acknowledgement is bound to the revision, not the document: acknowledging revision 1 does not testify that you read revision 2 — and the change may be exactly what concerns you.
This happens automatically when any new revision is approved, without anyone having to remember to ask.
Nobody acknowledges on your behalf
There is no path in goiso for a manager or HR officer to press the button for you — no bulk screen, no acknowledgement import. Because a proxy acknowledgement is not evidence of awareness; it is evidence that somebody filled a field.
Who sees that I have not acknowledged?
The document page shows your management who has and has not acknowledged among its audience. And if two weeks pass after a revision without your acknowledgement, an alert lands in the app bell — it reaches you first, not only your manager.
